Golden Syrup Dumplings

INGREDIENTS

  • 3/4 cup brown sugar

  • 1/4 cup plus 1 tbsp golden syrup

  • 100g salted butter

  • 1 1/2 cups self-raising flour

  • 3/4 cup Camperdown Dairy Whole Milk

Instructions 

  1. Combine 2 cups water, brown sugar, 1/4 cup golden syrup and half the butter in a large saucepan. Stir over a low heat until melted.

  2. While preparing sauce, rub in the remaining half of the butter into the flour. Combine milk and tablespoon of golden syrup. Stir into the flour mixture until well combined.

  3. Bring the sauce to the boil then drop generous dessert spoonfuls of the mixture into the sauce. Reduce the heat to low and simmer, covered for 15-20 minutes or until a skewer comes out of the dumpling clean.

  4. Serve with Camperdown Dairy Cream.
