Best ever steak sanga

It’s dad’s favourite sandwich. Packed full of flavour and a secret ingredient that will leave you begging for more.

Prep 10 minutes  |  Cook 30 min | Makes 1 serving

INGREDIENTS

Caramelised Onions:

  • 1 brown onion

  • 1 tbsp butter

  • 2 tsp brown sugar

Sandwich:

  • 1 tsp olive oil

  • 200g sandwich steak

  • Salt & Pepper

  • Handful of butter lettuce leaves

  • 2 tbsp Marisa's Crunchy Parmesan Dip

  • Crusty Ciabatta bread

Method

  1. Prepare Caramelised onions: Melt butter in a frypan over low heat. Add onions and stir to coat in butter. Cover and allow to sweat for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  2. Remove lid and stir until onion is golden, add brown sugar and cook until sticky.

  3. Allow steak to come to room temperature before cooking, season with salt and pepper. Heat frypan over high heat, add, oil and cook steak to your liking.

  4. Remove steak from pan, cover with foil and allow to rest for 5 minutes.

  5. Cut a generous slice of ciabatta and split. Spread the base with parmesan dip, top with butter lettuce, steak and caramelised onion. Serve Immediately.
